Jerome State Historic Park takes you through the storied past of one of the most productive copper mining towns in the American West. At the heart of the park is the Douglas Mansion, built in 1916 at the direction of mining magnate James S. Douglas. This sprawling adobe structure, highly innovative for its era, now serves as a museum that brings Jerome’s mining era to life.

Step into the story as you explore detailed displays of historic mining equipment, mineral specimens, and period photographs. A 3-D model of the mine network beneath the town provides insight into the engineering marvels (and dangers) of early 20th-century mining operations. The park also invites you to take in sweeping views of the Verde Valley and the remnants of the Little Daisy Mine, once operated by the Douglas family.
